"Friends" Of Lake Alma

"FRIENDS" of Lake Alma State Park is a newly formed non-profit organization. Established in the spring of 2004 this group has been a wonderful asset to the park and staff.

The purpose and objective of the organization is to promote and enhance the Lake Alma State Park facilities and provide services to the community offering opportunities for the public to discover the natural and cultural history of the area.

The organization is a support group for the Lake Alma park staff by raising funds, accepting donations to aid park operations and contributing their time for service to the park. They are a link between the park and the surrounding community. Members of the organization help raise funds for group projects, special events and everyday park activities.

Some of the goals which have already been accomplished are:
     ● Two lane shuffleboard court
     ● Park benches around the lake and in the campgrounds
     ● Additional playground equipment
     ● Many hours contributed in special events such as the Annual Community Beach
         Party, Halloween Campouts, Fishing Derbies and general activities at the park.
     ● Promoting Lake Alma with participation in local parades
     ● Gazebo and cover bridge was added in the fall of 2006

As the organization grows, the goals will grow. This year one of their main goals will be to make improvement to the restrooms in the campgrounds. Also, this year will the the 11th year for the Annual Lake Alma Community Beach Party. Please join us to make this the biggest and best year ever for the BEACH PARTY.

An application for membership is available through this website, a member of the group or the park staff. Everyone is welcome to join, membership dues are $10.00 per year per family

The Friends of Lake Alma meets every second Monday of the month starting in March until Nov.

The "Friends" hope to continue to promote participation within the local communities, encouraging everyone to work together to make our Lake a more enjoyable place to visit.

Whether you are a camper, a walker or a fisherman, the "Friends" Group is our way of letting the State of Ohio know how much our Lake Alma means to us.
